POINTS TO REMEMBER FOR MDS EXAMINATION

1. The medial cerebral artery does not pass through the cavernous sinus

2. Occulomotor nerve, trochlear nerve and trigeminal nerve pass through the cavernous sinus

3. The artery that passes forwardsย  through theย  cavernous sinus is Internal carotid artery

4. Inferior thyroid artery is a branch ofย  Subclavian artery

5. Lymphatics of upper gums drains into Submandibular nodes

6. Accessory meningeal artery enters cranial cavity through Foramen ovale

7. Facial vein communicates with the cavernous sinus through superior opthalmic vein and pterygoid venous plexus

8. Blood supply of coronoid process of mandible is primarily from Deep Temporal Artery

9. Middle part of lower lip is first drained into the brachiocephalic vein

10. Middle meningeal artery isย  a direct branch of internal carotid artery
